  • Release stress with Tree of Life’s 9am pilates/yoga (PiYo) class at 116 Steele Street (2nd floor). Come back your kiddo at 10:30am for the children’s version. Each class is $5.
  • Starting today, Family Fun Zone (Rand Street, 919-774-4596) is out of the inflatables business and in the roller skating one! The owners have cleared the floor and are ready for all of the area's skating fans!
  • Get out and enjoy the weather with another great Raven Rock State Park event. “Put Your Foot Down” will allow hikers of all ages to look at the feet of different animals and learn more about their uses and benefits. You’ll even make a plaster casts to take home. Meet at the Visitor Center at 11am.
  • Rev up your motorcycles (or cars) for the Southern Brotherhood MC’s annual Polar Run to benefit Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption (12pm). The cost is $10/hand ($5/car) or two items from the group's list of needs. Get more details here.
  • It’s cornhole time again! Go play cornhole with the Broadway Optimists (6-11pm). Entry fee is $3/round and prizes range from gift cards to meats (similar to turkey shoot prizes). All proceeds benefit the baseball/softball program.

  • Take a trip to Aberdeen for the Aberdeen Bead Company’s “String it Along Saturday” (11am). This week’s focus will be chain and crystal drop earrings. The cost is $30, but you'll bring home your handmade jewelry.
  • Stop by the Carolina Brewery & Grill in Pittsboro for a free brewery tour and tasting (12pm and 1pm). The tours are free, but you must sign up at 919-545-2330.
  • Go hear celtic, folk, and renaissance music as well as sea shanties, pirate, and pub songs performed by Thunder and Spice at City Tap (9pm).

Sunday in Sanford/Lee County NC
  • Attend a wreath ceremony sponsored by C.E.A.D. and Wilson & Reives Law to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr at the MLK Community Park on S. Horner Blvd (1:30pm).
  • Pay tribute to Hank Williams and Patsy Cline at The Temple Theatre Company's production of Country Royalty (2pm). Tickets are $22 for adults and $12 for children and students.
  • Jonesboro UMC (407 W. Main) is hosting a free screening of The Sound of Music to set the mood for a von Trapp concert next week. The movie starts at 5:30pm and there will be free popcorn!
  • Join in a celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr day at Gospel Lighthouse Ministries (McIntosh Street) hosted by the Sanford-Lee County Chapter of the NAACP (6pm). Rep. Marvin Lucas of Sprink Lake will speak and the Pearson family will provide music.
