ALL SUMMER

Lee County Library's Summer Reading Program

Where: 107 Hawkins Avenue, Sanford NC
When: June 19-August 2
Notes: Tuesdays at 2pm for grades 1-3, Wednesday at 10am for toddlers, Thursdays at 11am for preschoolers, and Thursdays at 2pm for grades 4-6. There is a different theme each week.
Cost: free
To register: No registration necessary. Just show up!

General Fun & Skate Camp

Where: Family Fun Zone, 111 Rand Street, Sanford NC
When: Monday-Friday starting June 11 (7:45am-6pm)
Note: Camp will offer arts, crafts, movies, skate lessons, lots of games, activities, and field trips.
Cost: $20/day.

San Lee Park's Nature Camps

Where: San Lee Park, Pumping Station Road, Sanford NC
When: Monday-Friday, June 18-August 10 (7:30am-5:30pm. Half days available.)
What: Each week offers a different theme relating to nature. Camps are open to children ages 4-12.
Cost: $60/week for half days. $100/week for full days.

Kidz Junction Summer Camps

Where: 1031 Spring Lane, Sanford NC
When: All summer (8am-12pm or 8am-6pm)
Notes: Each week offers a different theme. Space is limited!
Cost: $40-$85 per week

Lee County 4H Summer Fun

Where: McSwain Center, Tramway Road, Sanford NC
When: June-August (times vary)
Notes: Registration begins promptly at 9am on May 17. Camps fill up fast, so make sure you select your top choices quickly.

Central Carolina Community College

Where: All campuses

Notes: Session topics range from digital photography to cooking to sewing.

Kids of the Kingdom Summer Camp

Where: First Baptist Church Family Life Center, Sanford NC
When: June-August (7:30am-5:30pm)
Notes: Each week offers a different theme. Camp is open to children in grades K-6 (rising).
Cost: $115 per week

Girl Scout Day Camp

Where: San Lee Park, Pumping Station Road, Sanford NC
When: June 11-15 (9am-3pm. Early drop-off and late pick-up available.)

Martial Arts Camp

Where: Black Belt Leadership Academy, 1716 Westover Drive, Sanford NC
When: Weeks of June 18, July 23, and August 6. (8am-12pm. Early drop off starts at 7:30am)
Note: Any child can participate in the camps, even if they aren't BBLA students.
Cost: $40/day ($30/day if paid in advance) or $129 for the week.

Free To Be Me

Where: Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Drive, Sanford NC
When: June 18-22 (10am-2pm)
What: Activities include arts, games, basketball, dance, and more for children ages 9 through 12.
Cost: $25 total.

Party, Paint & Playtime for Preschoolers

Where: Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Drive, Sanford NC
When: June 26, July 3, July 10, and July 17 (9-11am)
What: Activities include arts and crafts, music and motion, story time and more for children ages 3 and 4.
Cost: $15 total.

Basketball Camp for Boys & Girls

Where: Bob Hales Center (Old Armory), 147 McIver Street, Sanford NC
When: June 18-July 19 (6-8pm)
What: Children ages 9-12 will attend on Mondays and Wednesdays. Those ages 13-15 will attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be no camp the week of July 4.
Cost: $20 for county residents. Cost includes a camp t-shirt.

Kids Can Connect

Where: Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Drive, Sanford NC
When: June 26, July 3, July 10, and July 17 (9-11am)
What: Activities include arts, music and motion, drama, basketball and more for children ages 5 through 8.

New! Kid's Embroidery Camp

Where: Find X Designs, 719 Carthage Street, Sanford NC
When: June 29 (10am-1pm)
What: Children will learn basic embroidery stitches. After the camp, they should be able to make stems, flowers, French and Colonial knots, and more. Adults are welcome to attend.
Cost: $40 (all materials included)

Ready Day Camp

Where: Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Drive, Sanford NC
When: Monday-Friday from July 9 to August 2 (8am-12pm)
What: Activities include team building, computer and academic tutoring, games, etc for children ages 6 to 16.
Cost: $120 total.

New! Lee County Schools' STEM Camp

Where: Lee County Schools, Sanford NC
When: July 10-12 (8:30am-3pm)
What: This camp is open to rising 7th and 8th graders. They'll explore how science, technology, engineering and math are used in the world of robotics.
Cost: $25 (includes lunch)

Basketball Fundamentals Clinic

Where: Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Drive, Sanford NC
When: July 23-25 (6-8pm)
What: Participants will focus on dribbling, passing, shooting, and lay-ups under the guidance of coach Larry Goins. The clinic is open to ages 6-16.
Cost: $20 total.

CHATHAM COUNTY

Big Cat Safari Summer Camp

Where: Carolina Tiger Rescue, Pittsboro NC
When: Weeks of June 4 and June 11.
Notes: Campers ages 9 to 11 will interact with and learn more about endangered and rescued large cats.

CHAM-JAM Music Camp

Where: Silk Hope Farm Heritage Park
When: June 18-22 (8:30am-3pm)
Notes: There will be classes for beginners up to advanced players. Campers will also participate in storytelling, song writing, farm education, and more.
Cost: $150 per week. Instrumental rental is $10 per week.

Summer Horse Riding Camp at Cedar Hill Farms

Where: 5763 NC 87 South, Moncure NC
When: June 18-22 and June 25-29 (9am-1pm) and July 2-6 and July 9-13 (9am-4pm)
Notes: The first two weeks are for children ages 3-6. The last week is for children ages 6-15.
Cost: $200 per week or $350 for both weeks. July camps are $300/week or $500 for both weeks.

Where: Saxapahaw, NC
When: June and July (9am-4pm)
Notes: Campers ages 10 to 15 can develop their skills in canoes and kayaks as well as practice orienteering, fire-building, and shelter-building.

MOORE COUNTY

Southern Pines Recreation & Parks Camps

Where: Location varies
When: All summer
What: Activities include swimming, arts and crafts, dance, athletic games, and more. There are separate sessions and themes depending on the camper's age (3-13).

Studio V Summer Art Camp @ The Coffee Cabin

Where: 730 South Bennett Street, Southern Pines NC
When: Weeks of June 5-July 31 (9am-12pm)
What: Each week will focus on a different medium. Campers will have an exhibit at the end of each week.
Cost: $150/week with $50 deposit.

Moore Arts Council’s Art Camp

Where: Campbell House, 482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines NC
When: July 9-13 (9am-12pm)
Notes: This camp is open to children in rising grades 3-8. Space is limited.

Skate Boarding Camp

Where: Double Decker Skate and Bike Park, 500 Blount Street, Fayetteville NC
When: June 18-22 and July 9-13 (both are 9am-6pm)
What: Price includes a travel day to Wilmington to visit three skate parks.
Cost: $195 per person
