Movies '12

The heat of summer is here to stay. Cool off on with low-cost movies sure to please everyone in your family -- no matter their age. [Here are some tips from contributor Jason Ziebart for enjoying the movies with your kiddos.]

Get out your calendars and schedule your week day entertainment to include these offerings:

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, head over to Spring Lane Stadium 10 or Sandhills 10 at 10am. The movies are just $1 and the schedule is:
For Spring Lane:
  • Kung Fu Panda 2 (6/26 and 6/28)
  • The Smurfs (7/3 and 7/5)
  • Puss in Boots (7/10 and 7/12)
  • Happy Feet 2 (7/17 and 7/19)
  • Shrek Forever After (7/24 and 7/26)
  • Spy Kids: All The Time In The World (7/31 and 8/2)
For Sandhills:
  • Happy Feet Two (6/26 and 6/28)
  • Shrek Forever After (7/3 and 7/5)
  • Spy Kids: All The Time In The World (7/10 and 7/12)
  • Alvin & The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (7/17 and 7/19)
  • The Adventures of TinTin (7/24 and 7/26)
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, you catch a movie for $1/child at the Omni Cinemas 8 in Fayetteville (10am). One adult can accompany a paying child for free. The schedule is:

  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (6/19-21)
  • Puss in Boots (6/26-28)
  • The Smurfs (7/3-5)
  • Happy Feet 2 (7/10-12)
  • Dolphin Tale (7/17-19)
  • RIO (7/24-26)
  • Alvin & The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (7/31-8/2)
  • Rango (8/7-9)
  • Mr. Popper's Penguins (8/14-16)
  • The Lorax (8/21-23)
