    What: The Sanford Area Society of Shaggers (SASS) will hold their monthly social. The event will feature DJ Kitty Earles.
  • ‘The Cost of Living’ at the ArtStudio, 102 S. Steele St, Sanford NC

    What: The Cost of Living is a one-act play based on letters and interviews with 25 Anchorage, AK breast cancer survivors. Tickets are $25 each and all proceeds from the event will be shared between Central Carolina Hospital Auxiliary Cancer Care Fund and the Lee County Highway To Healing Fund.

  • Chick-Fil-A 5K at Depot Park, downtown Sanford NC

    What: The race will wind through downtown Sanford. Chick-Fil-A will have free breakfast in Depot Park as well as a DJ. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club. Registration is $35.
  • Mom-to-Mom Consignment Sale at St Luke UMC, 2916 Wicker St, Sanford NC
    When: 8a-12:30p
    What: Shop for all things baby and child from local moms. Admission is $1 per adult. The sale benefits the ministry of Sanford MOPS.
  • Nature Center Open at San Lee Park, 572 Pumping Station Rd, Sanford NC

    What: The newly built Nature Center will be open to the public every day in October from 8a to 5p. The building is now located up the hill from the old center.
  • Teddy Bear Brunch at the McSwain Center, 2420 Tramway Rd, Sanford NC

    What: Children under age 5 are invited for a morning snack, storytelling, music, crafts, a teddy bear hunt, and more. Admission is free but donations are welcome. You must pre-register.
  • Goldston Old Fashion Day in Goldston NC

    What: The annual festival will feature food, games, entertainment, music, vendors, and more.
  • Bike and Safety Day at Bray Park, 800 Alston Bridge Rd, Siler City NC

    What: The Boy Scouts and the Town of Siler City invites youth to bring their bikes to the park for activities ranging from a bike maze to how to care for your pet. Many community partners, such as the Siler City Police Department, will also attend.

    What: The shop will have games, a cake walk, rock painting, door prizes, and free hot dogs.
  • Strut Your Mutt Fall Festival at Petco, 3070 S. Horner Blvd, Sanford NC

    What: Meet animals available for adoption. You can also bring pets in costume for a costume contest. A professional photographer will be onsite for photos and there will be live music.
  • Hayride & Movie Night at Millstone Creek Orchards, 506 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur NC
    When: 5-9p
    What: Ride the “happy” hayride trail decorated with animated scenes and thousands of lights. They’ll also play a halloween movie. Every child dressed in costume will receive a treat bag and there will be a costume contest at 6:30p. Admission is $7 for ages 3+.
