  • Homelessness Summit at the Public Works Service Center, 601 N. Fifth St, Sanford NC

  • Lee County Genealogical & Historical Society Meeting at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: The program will be “The Deep River’s Black Diamonds: North Carolina’s Coal Mines, 1853-1953,” presented by Mr. Forest Hazel. The meeting will be in the library’s auditorium.

    What: Join park staff every week to hike 3-6 miles on trails that can be flat, hilly and include steps. Plan to stop during the hike to observe wildlife, enjoy environmental educational moments, and listen to the natural world. For ages 12 and up.   • Preschool Story Time at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC

    What: Bring children ages 3-5 for story time in the auditorium. Programs last between 20 and 30 minutes and may include stories, finger plays, flannel board stories, crafts, movement, and music.
  • Sanford BPW Meeting at Elizabeth’s Pizza, 1009 Spring Lane, Sanford NC

    What: Networking starts at 5p, with the meeting starting at 5:309. The topic of the presentation will be Building Integrated Communities. Guests interested in learning more about the Sanford Business & Professional Women’s Club are invited to attend.
  • Open Mic at Karma Boutique & Coffee Bar, 131 Wicker St, Sanford NC

    What: Enjoy the sharing of original poetry & prose in blocks lasting up to five minutes each. Writers age 15 and under are encouraged to share their original works from 6-6:15 PM. Works containing adult language or mature themes may be shared after 6:15 PM.

    What: Take a musical tour through the 50s and 60s with Marc Black, a recent inductee to the NY Chapter of the Blues Hall of Fame and former Folk Artist of the Year on ABC Radio. The event is free and open to the public.

  • ‘Savannah Sipping Society’ at the Temple Theatre, 120 Carthage St, Sanford NC

    What: “Four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by Fate—and an impromptu happy hour—and decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years.” Tickets are $14 for students and seniors and $25 for adults.
  • Prayer Conference at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 385 Holly Springs Church Rd, Broadway NC

    What: The event will begin with a catered dinner in the fellowship hall. The cost is $10 per person to be paid at the door. Please make a reservation by calling the church office at 919-258-6342. The program begins at 7p. Childcare will be provided.
