    What: Bring your children to Dairy Queen on Horner Blvd to enjoy free ice cream with members of the Sanford Police Department! The officers will offer free I.D. kits and kids can participate in a coloring contest. Bring school supplies or a non-perishable food item to donate to BackPack Pals.

  • Sanford Jobseekers at First Baptist Church, 202 Summit Dr, Sanford NC

    What: Join a group of like-minded job seekers who want to support one another during transition. Everyone is welcome. Call 919-776-6137 for more information.
  • Grant Writing Workshop at Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC

    What: On August 2, 9, and 16, Lee County Library will host a 3-part Grant Writing Program. Participants will learn where to look for money and how to write grants for their non-profits, government agencies or anyone interested in learning how grants are done. Call the library to sign up.

  • Thursday Hike at Raven Rock State Park, 3009 Raven Rock Rd, Lillington NC

    What: Join park staff every week to hike 3-6 miles on trails that can be flat, hilly and include steps. Plan to stop during the hike to observe wildlife, enjoy environmental educational moments, and listen to the natural world. For ages 12 and up.     What: Join Sanford’s largest women’s organization for its annual kickoff meeting. Meet the members and learn how BPW can help YOU grow professionally, personally, and politically. Drinks and appetizers will be served.
  • Hamlet In The Park at the Temple Theatre, 120 Carthage St, Sanford NC

    What: The Temple Theatre’s teen conservatory will stage Hamlet. This is the only indoor performance of the production. There is no admission fee.
