  • Ribbon Cutting at Lee County YMCA, 1907 KM Wicker Memorial Dr, Sanford NC

    What: Celebrate the opening of the YMCA’s new location, where the Sanford Nautilus was located.

  • Summer Reading Program – Grades K-3 at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC

    What: The theme for the week is “Friend Adventure” featuring Ronald McDonald.
  • Bill Brown at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When: 7-8:30p
    What: Local author Bill Brown will discuss his book called Money to Burn. The event will be in the library auditorium.

Wednesday

  • Basketball Camp at Southern Lee High School, 2301 Tramway Rd, Sanford NC
    When: 8a-12p
    What: SLHS will host this camp that’s open to both boys and girls (rising 1st grade and up). The cost is $50 for all three days or $20 for the individual days.
  • Sanford Jobseekers at First Baptist Church, 202 Summit Dr, Sanford NC

    What: Join a group of like-minded job seekers who want to support one another during transition. Everyone is welcome. Call 919-776-6137 for more information.

    What: Chad Spivey will present “Build a Better World Through Music.”
  • Cub Treks at San Lee Park, 572 Pumping Station Rd, Sanford NC

    What: A park naturalist will lead a one-mile hike that will include time to stop and explore. The hike is free. Donations for the animals will be accepted. Call Lydia at 919-775-2107 x3 to preregister (preferred).
  • Parkinson’s Disease Support Group at Lee County Enrichment Center, 1615 S 3rd St, Sanford NC

    What: Parkinson’s Disease Support Group for patients and their caregivers meets on the third Thursday of each month. All are welcome.
  • VBS at Christian Faith Ministries, 3110 Cameron Dr, Sanford NC

    What: The theme will be ‘God’s love is deeper than the ocean.” Dinner will be served each night.

    What: Join park staff every week to hike 3-6 miles on trails that can be flat, hilly and include steps. Plan to stop during the hike to observe wildlife, enjoy environmental educational moments, and listen to the natural world. For ages 12 and up.   • Summer Reading Program at First Presbyterian Church, 203 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC

  • Reception at the Artstudio, 102 S. Steele St, Sanford NC
    When: 6:30-8:30p
    What: Celebrate the opening of local artist Karen Rushatz’s solo exhibit. In addition to more than 30 paintings and drawings in this show, Karen has jewelry, notebooks, bags, and other items. There will be a drawing for an original art piece at the reception.
