  • Cheer Camp at Cheer Extreme, 3492 Cameron Dr, Sanford NC
    What: Youth ages 4-14 will cheer, tumble, jump, arts & crafts, and more for $135/week ($100 for members). Email to reserve a spot. The camp runs through Thursday.
  • VBS at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 385 Holly Springs Church Rd, Broadway NC
    What: This year’s program lasts through Thursday with the theme of Galactic Starveyors: Discovering the God of the Universe. Preschoolers will be dismissed at 8p each night.



  • Sanford Jobseekers at First Baptist Church, 202 Summit Dr, Sanford NC
    What: Join a group of like-minded job seekers who want to support one another during transition. Everyone is welcome. Call 919-776-6137 for more information.
  • Homeschool Information Meeting at Sonic, 2600 S Horner Blvd, Sanford NC
    What: Learn more about a new homeschooling group in Sanford. Discussion will include the classical model of education, the benefits of community, and the curriculum the group uses. Contact Kristan at 919-996-9287 with questions.


  • Thursday Hike at Raven Rock State Park, 3009 Raven Rock Rd, Lillington NC
    What: Join park staff every week to hike 3-6 miles on trails that can be flat, hilly and include steps. Plan to stop during the hike to observe wildlife, enjoy environmental educational moments, and listen to the natural world. For ages 12 and up.   • Preschool Reading Program at the Sanford Fire Department, 512 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    What: The Lee County Coalition for Families will host a story time with the theme of transportation. This month’s story time will focus on fire trucks. Younger children and older siblings are welcome.
  • NASA Event at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    What: There will be a solar eclipse across the U.S. on August 21. The library is hosting 2 events to promote awareness. On June 29 and July 27 (the last Thursdays of each month), the library will show videos from the NASA website and talk about the science behind eclipses in the library auditorium.


  • Wizard of Oz at the Temple Theatre, 120 Carthage St, Sanford NC
    What: The first session of the theatre’s Summer Youth Conservatory will stage the iconic production. Tickets are $8/child or student and $14/adult.
