Sanford/Lee County events & activities for the week of June 27-30:

Monday:

  • Story Time at Millstone Creek Orchards, 506 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur NC

    What: One hour program includes story, tasting, hayride & take home seed planting. The cost is $8.
  • Meeting at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: The Friends of the Library will hold its annual meting, which will include a retirement reception for Rhonda Crumpton and a room dedication for Michael Matochik. Members can renew their memberships and anyone can join for the first time.
  • Live Music at Circle M City, 74 Cowboy Ln, Sanford NC

    What: The public is invited to a bluegrass jam every Monday night.

Tuesday

  • Free Movie at Spring Lane Cinemas, 1321 Douglas Dr, Sanford NC

    What: The theatre will show The SpongeBob Movie as part of the Summer Kids Series. Seating is limited, so plan to arrive early.
  • Fundraiser at Golden Corral, 2618 S. Horner Blvd, Sanford NC

    What: Drop your receipt in the Boys & Girls Clubs box and the organization will receive 10% of your sale.
  • Family Night at Chick-fil-A, 3224 NC Highway 87 S, Sanford NC

    What: Join the restaurant for family night every Tuesday in June. Enjoy games while you have dinner, and if you complete the challenge, you’ll receive a complimentary small ice cream cone.

    What: This month’s books are The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to our Brain by Nicholas Carr and The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in the Digital Age by Catherine Steiner-Adair.
  • Beginner Line Dance Lessons at the VFW, 1500 Veterans Way, Sanford NC

    What: Crank It Up DJ Service will teach beginner lesson’s on the club’s large wood dance floor. Admission is $7. All are welcome.

    What: Bring the kids to enjoy storytime and crafts. This week’s theme is Fourth of July. After, walk to Depot Park for a picnic. RSVP here so that they can ensure there are enough supplies for everyone.
