  • Toddler Story Time at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC

    What: Bring toddlers (up to age 3) for story time in the auditorium. Programs last between 20 and 30 minutes and may include stories, finger plays, flannel board stories, crafts, movement, and music.

    What: Join Mayor Chet Mann, First Presbyterian Church, and the Sanford Area Growth Alliance on the National Day of Prayer for a morning of inspiration and fellowship with keynote speaker Allan Head.
  • Thursday Hike at Raven Rock State Park, 3009 Raven Rock Rd, Lillington NC
    When:
    9-10a
    What: Join park staff every week to hike 3-6 miles on trails that can be flat, hilly and include steps. Plan to stop during the hike to observe wildlife, enjoy environmental educational moments, and listen to the natural world. For ages 12 and up.     What: Bring children ages 3-5 for story time in the auditorium. Programs last between 20 and 30 minutes and may include stories, finger plays, flannel board stories, crafts, movement, and music.
  • Veteran Career Workshop at CCCC-Lee, 1105 Kelly Dr, Sanford NC

    What: The NC Dept of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions will present career strategies to help veterans compete in the labor force. Spouses are welcome and lunch will be provided.
  • Poetry and Prose Open Mic at Karma Boutique & Coffee Bar, 131 Wicker Street, Sanford NC

    What: Enjoy the sharing of original poetry & prose in blocks lasting up to five minutes each. Sign up for open mic begins at 5:30p. Writers age 15 and under are encouraged to share their original works from 6-6:15p. Works containing adult language or mature themes may be shared after 6:15p.

    What: The community is invited to hear students’ poetry, essays, and songs devoted to Arbor Day. The City of Sanford will plant trees on the school campus.
