  • Story Time at Millstone Creek Orchards, 506 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur NC

    What: One hour program includes story, tasting, hayride & take home seed planting. The cost is $8.
  • Classes for Family Caregivers at the Enrichment Center, 1615 S 3rd St, Sanford NC
    When:
    1-3p
    What: The center will offer an evidence based class for family caregivers that will offer quality and relevant tools from a certified instructor. The class will run on Mondays through November 7.   • Halloween Bash at Harnett County Public Library, 601 S Main St, Lillington NC
    When:
    4:30-5:30p
    What: Children in grades K-2 can stop in for treats and a story. “The Gruffalo” and “Room on the Broom” will be shown. Costumes are welcome.
  • LiveStrong at the Lee County YMCA, 860 Spring Ln, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: LiveStrong is a program for cancer survivors that offers a free workout. Call 919-777-9622 with questions.

  • Job Fair at the Chatham County Career Center, 764 West St, Pittsboro NC
    When:

    What: Aerotek will hold interviews for general production workers, material handlers, and forklift operators. Call 919-545-8054 to schedule an interview.
  • Lee Readers Book Club at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When: 6:30-7:30p
    What: Lee Readers is a book club that meets on the third Tuesday of each month.

Wednesday

  • Sanford Jobseekers at First Baptist Church, 202 Summit Dr, Sanford NC
    When:
    8:30-10:30a
    What: Whether you are a jobseeker or trying to help and support job seekers. Join a group of like-minded job seekers who want to support one another during transition. Everyone is welcome. Call 919-776-6137 for more information.
  • Toddler Story Time at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When:
    10-11a
    What: Bring toddlers (up to age 3) for story time in the auditorium. Programs last between 20 and 30 minutes and may include stories, finger plays, flannel board stories, crafts, movement, and music.
  • Bike Show at CCCC-Lee, 1105 Kelly Dr, Sanford NC
    When: 12-4p
    What: The mechanics program will host the event. Prizes will be awarded for best cruiser, sport, off road, and open. Email ccccriders@gmail.com for more information.
  • Candlelight Vigil at CCCC-Lee, 1105 Kelly Dr, Sanford NC

    What: HAVEN in Lee County will host this vigil in honor of all those who have been impacted by domestic violence. The vigil will be held in the courtyard.

Thursday

  • AM Buzz hosted by Lee County YMCA, 860 Spring Ln, Sanford NC

    What: Network with local business people and Chamber members. Bonus: Breakfast, coffee, and prizes.
  • Grant Writing Workshop at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When: 9:30-11:30a
    What: Irene Smith will again offer instruction in successful grant writing in the library auditorium. There will be limited seating. Register by calling Debbie Mansfield at 919-718-4665, ext. 5490.
  • Preschool Story Time at the Lee County Library, 107 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When: 10-11a
    What: Bring children ages 3-5 for story time in the auditorium. Programs last between 20 and 30 minutes and may include stories, finger plays, flannel board stories, crafts, movement, and music.
  • Candidates Forum at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash St, Sanford NC
    When: 5:30-7:30p
    What: The event will start with a reception at 5:30p. The forum will begin at 6:30p. Candidates for the Lee County Board of Education, Lee County Board of Commissioners, N.C. Senate District 12, and N.C. House District 51 and 54 races have been invited, with most planning to attend.
  • Student Theatre at Lee County High School, 1708 Nash Street, Sanford NC
    When: 7-8:30p
    What: Student actors will stage Trial and Errors, a courtroom drama that is light hearted and appropriate for the whole family. Admission is $5.

Friday

  • Movies in the Park at Depot Park, 106 Charlotte Ave, Sanford NC
    When:
    5p
    What: The Central Carolina Jaycees, Downtown Sanford, Inc and the Lee County Partnership for Children are teaming up again to offer free, family-friendly movies. The Lee County Partnership for Children will offer activities for kids to do while waiting for the movie to start (craft, obstacle course, reading area, etc.) and the Central Carolina Jaycees have concessions available for purchase. The movie for this week is Jungle Book.
  • Open Studio at the ArtStudio, 102 S. Steele St, Sanford NC
    When:
    6-9p
    What: Open studio allows artists ages 14+ to work on projects within a creative community. Artists work on projects of their choosing and are welcome to bring their own materials and works in progress. Arrive and leave as your schedule allows. The cost is $25 per class.
