Another spring weekend means another jam-packed couple of days. This weekend features the annual Sanford Block Party, the NC Jaycee Burn Center benefit, Legally Blonde at the Temple, and lots more. Have fun!

    What: The NC Department of Public Safety/Division of Adult Corrections is recruiting applicants for Correctional Officer I and II positions.
  • Open House at the Lee County Health Department, 106 Hillcrest Dr, Sanford NC
    When: 2-4p
    What: Meet the department’s staff and learn about the many programs and services available. Educational materials, light refreshments and prizes will be available. The open house is free and open to the public. For more information, call 919-718-4640.
  • Legally Blonde at the Temple Theatre, 120 Carthage St, Sanford NC
    When: 2p and 8p
    What: A fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.
  • Spaghetti Dinner Benefit at First Presbyterian Church, 203 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When: 6-8p
    What: Spaghetti dinner including salad, roll, drink and dessert for $8/adult or $5/child under age 5. Students from J. Glenn Edwards Elementary and B.T. Bullock will sing and an East Lee Middle School student will provide background music. Proceeds benefit two local families fighting cancer.
  • Student Theatre at San-Lee Chapel, 3215 Keller Andrews Rd, Sanford NC
    When: 7p
    What: Lee Christian’s drama students will present “Holy Moses!” — a new telling of the classic bible tale.
  • Annie at the Stewart Theatre, 114 N Wilson Ave, Dunn NC
    When:
    7:30p
    What: Harnett Regional Theatre will stage the iconic play. Tickets are $12.

Saturday

  • Spring Plein Air Paint-Out at the Art House, 1501 Cool Springs Rd, Sanford NC
    When: 7a-4p
    What: Sanford Brush & Palette Club invites artists to set up around the farm to paint in the fresh air. The cost to participate is $10/member or $15/non-member.
  • Sanford Block Party on McIntosh St, Sanford NC
    When: 8a-3p
    What: Volunteers from around the community will come together to spruce up areas of McIntosh Street. Free breakfast will begin at 8a and work will begin at 9a. Free lunch will also be provided.
  • NC Jaycee Burn Center Ride & Music Event 2017 at the Gilliam Mill, 4699 Carbonton Rd, Sanford NC
    When: 8a-9p
    What: The day starts with a benefit bike ride and ends with live music at the Ole Gilliam Mill. The cost to ride is $20/single and $20+love offering/double. Kick stands up at 10a. Vendors and food will start at the mill at 1p. The music will start at 2p.
  • Adoptathon at PetSense, 2414 S. Horner Blvd, Sanford NC

    What: The store will offer adoptions and activities for the whole family. There will be goodie bags for those who adopt.
