    When:
    10a, 12p, 2p, and 4p
    What: The fountain runs from May 11 to October 31. During that period, it will operate for an hour at a time at 10a, 12p, 2p, and 4p each day.
  • Auction at S & L Bargain Depot, 1000 N. Horner Blvd, Sanford NC
    When:
    6p
    What: Overstock and mis-shipped items will be auctioned to the highest bidder. There will be free popcorn until the auction starts at 6:30p.


Saturday

  • Volunteer Work Day at Raven Rock State Park, 3009 Raven Rock Rd, Sanford NC
    When: 9a-12p
    What: Help with trail clean up and place donated benches throughout the park. This activity is suitable for adults and children above 12 years of age.  Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work and wear closed toed shoes.   Meet at the Visitor Center.

  • Popcorn & A Movie at the Sunrise Theatre, 250 NW Broad St, Southern Pines NC
    When:
    10a-12:30p
    What: Boys in grades 1st-5th (and their families) are invited to watch Follow Me, Boys. Scouts in uniform will gain free entry. Others pay $3.
  • Voter Registration Drive at Mundo Latino, 906 S. Horner Blvd, Sanford NC
    When:
    10a-3p
    What: Anyone can register to vote or change their voter registration.
  • Back to School at Books at a Steele, 106 S. Steele St, Sanford NC
    When:
    10a-4p
    What: Purchase 3 juvenile or young adult chapter books and you’ll get a 4th one free. You can slo get audlt books for $1 each. Everyone will get a complimentary school of Yarborough’s ice cream.
  • Zumba at Sanford Latin Dance, 109 S Steele St, Sanford NC
    When:
    11a-12p
    What: All are welcome. The cost is $5 per person.
  • Community Outreach Day at Horton Park, 1515 Washington Ave, Sanford NC
    When: 11a-6p
    What: Community organizers will have food, games, and fellowship all afternoon. The event is free and open to the public.
  • Brew n’ Choo at New Hope Valley Railway, 3900 Bonsal Rd, Sanford NC
    When: 2-10p
    What: The railway will host a pizza party complete with craft beer, local wine, ice cream and live music. Trains will depart hourly from 4-7p.
  • FVRC Annual Black & White Ball at the Governors Club, 11000 Governors Dr, Chapel Hill NC
    When: 6:30-11p
    What: The Family Violence & Rape Crisis Services’ (FVRC) annual Black and White Ball is a fundraiser to help the community promote peace in all relationships and stop domestic and sexual violence.
