    When:

    What: The theatre will stage its original adaption of Charles Dickens’ beloved story. Tickets are $25/adult and $14/child/student/senior.
  • Christmas Tree Event at Millstone Creek Orchard, 506 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur NC
    When:

    What: Take a hayride to a Christmas Tree Village, see a holiday movie (6-8p), visit with Santa, and more all for $5/person. Children under 2 are admitted free.
  • First Friday at the Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Dr, Sanford NC
    When:
    6-8p
    What: Spend an evening with family and friends. The theme is Christmas. Bring a covered dish or dessert to share.
  • Train and Tree Lighting at Depot Park, 106 Charlotte Ave, Sanford NC
    When:
    6-9p
    What: Santa will arrive by fire truck to light the train and tree in Depot Park and stay for photos. Lee County Partnership for Children will provide craft and activity stations and the Temple Teens will perform holiday music. The Lee County Arts Council will have free emoji Christmas ornaments for the first 100 children.
  • Chatham Studio Tour Opening Reception at Chatham Mills, 480 Hillsboro St, Pittsboro NC
    When:

    What: Kick off the annual tour of Chatham County’s artists the night, hosted by the Chatham Artists Guild. During the first two weekends in December, this free event provides an opportunity to meet 50+ artists and see first-hand where their artistic creations come to life.

Saturday

  • Santa Trains at New Hope Valley Railway, 3900 Bonsal Rd, New Hill NC
    When:
    8:30a-4:30p
    What: Frosty the Snowman will greet children while Santa Claus and his elf are on board to pose for photos and visit with each child during the hour-long train excursion. Passengers will ride in covered, open-air train cars and are encouraged to dress for the weather. Tickets range from $17/person to $12/person.
  • Chatham County Art Studio Tour
    When:
    10a-5p
    What: During the first two weekends in December, this free event provides an opportunity to meet 50+ artists and see first-hand where their artistic creations come to life.
  • Holiday Pop Up at 2nd Glances, 137 Wicker St, Sanford NC
    When:
    11a-5p
    What: Direct sales vendors will set up to help with holiday shopping. Sip a free mimosa while you shop.
  • Santa Paws at Big Bloomers Flower Farm, 275 Pressly Foushee Rd, Sanford NC
    When:
    12-4p
    What: Bring your family and/or pet for a photo opp with Santa taken by photographer Ron Cribbs. There is a $5 sitting fee. This is a fundraiser for Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption.
  • LCCO at the Arts Center, 507 N. Steele St, Sanford NC

    What: The Lee County Community Orchestra will perform two holiday concerts featuring Ilana Lubitsch and Dan Boye. Admission is free.
  • Home Town Dance at the Enrichment Center, 1615 S. Third St, Sanford NC

    What: The Southern Exposure Band will perform. The Enrichment Center will provide a ham; bring a covered side dish to share.
  • Social Saturday at Sanford Latin Dance, 109 S Steele St, Sanford
    When: 7-11:30p
    What: The event starts with salsa dancing lessons from 7p to 8p. From 8p to 11:30p, the floor will be open to dancing. Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring a dish or dessert to share. Admission is $10 per adult.

  • Christmas Lovefeast Service at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church, 316 W. Main St, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: This worship service is grounded in the Moravian tradition consisting of the singing of Christmas carols and the serving of Lovefeast buns and Moravian coffee. The service will be in the McDowell Fellowship Hall adjacent to Woodland Avenue. All are welcomed.
