    When:

    What: The Central Carolina Jaycees, Downtown Sanford, Inc and the Lee County Partnership for Children are teaming up again to offer free, family-friendly movies. The Lee County Partnership for Children will offer activities for kids to do while waiting for the movie to start (craft, obstacle course, reading area, etc.) and the Central Carolina Jaycees have concessions available for purchase. The movie for this week is Angry Birds.
  • Vino & Van Gogh at the ArtStudio, 102 S. Steele St #401, Sanford NC
    When:
    6:30-8:30p
    What: Paint a Van Gogh-inspired canvas for $40 per person, which includes all supplies and guided instruction. Bring your own wine.

Saturday

  • Lee County Harvest Walk at First Presbyterian Church, 203 Hawkins Ave, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: Buy a turkey and dressing plate with all the trimmings for $8. An auction will begin at 2p.
  • Adoption Event at Petco, 3070 Horner Blvd, Sanford NC

    What: Animal Life Rescue will bring out cats and dogs that are ready to be adopted.
  • Hallelujah Harvest Fall Festival at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church, 316 W Main St, Sanford NC
    When:
    1-3:30p
    What: There will be inflatables, games, pony rides, face painting and a variety of food. A gospel presentation will be given by world class juggler Chris Fowler. Admission is free. For more information, call, 919-776-1541, or visit the church’s website at www.jhbc.org.
  • Student Theatre at Lee County High School. 1706 Nash St, Sanford NC

    What: Students in grades 3-12 will present “Schoolhouse Rock Live,” featuring iconic songs like “The Great American Melting Pot,” “I’m Just a Bill,” and “Elbow Room.”
  • Social Saturday at Sanford Latin Dance, 109 S Steele St, Sanford NC
    When:
    7-11:30p
    What: The event starts with salsa dancing lessons from 7p to 8p. From 8p to 11:30p, the floor will be open to dancing. Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring a dish or dessert to share. Admission is $10 per adult.

  • Holiday Open House in downtown Sanford NC

    What: Shops will offer specials, promotions, refreshments, and more to kick off the holiday season.
