    What: View hundreds of new, original pieces of artwork by Sanford Brush & Palette Club members. Admission is free. Art is available for purchase.
  • Movies in the Park at Depot Park, 106 Charlotte Ave, Sanford NC

    What: The Central Carolina Jaycees, Downtown Sanford, Inc and the Lee County Partnership for Children are teaming up again to offer free, family-friendly movies. The Lee County Partnership for Children will offer activities for kids to do while waiting for the movie to start (craft, obstacle course, reading area, etc.) and the Central Carolina Jaycees have concessions available for purchase. The movie for this week is The Force Awakens.
  • Open Studio at the ArtStudio, 102 S. Steele St, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: Open studio allows artists ages 14+ to work on projects within a creative community. Artists work on projects of their choosing and are welcome to bring their own materials and works in progress. Arrive and leave as your schedule allows. The cost is $25 per class.
  • Lights of Halloween at Broken Plow Farm, 1851 Avents Ferry Rd, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: Take a kid-friendly, 30-minute hayride that finishes with a special light show. Rides start at 7p and run every 30 minutes. The cost is $8.50. Cash only. Feel free to bring the kids in costume.
  • CARA’s Haunted House at 217 N. Gulf St, Sanford NC
    When:

    What: Walk through this haunted house located in downtown Sanford for $3 per person. The event benefits Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
  • Halloween Party at the Wing House, 1574 NC Hwy 24/87, Cameron NC

    What: Dress in costume to win a prize. They’ll have fun, food, and karaoke – as well as a free shuttle for a 5-mile radius.

  • Costume 5K at Kiwanis Park, 1800 Wicker St, Sanford NC
    When: 9-11a
    What: Participate in a 5k to support a local Scout’s Eagle project, which is to install a patio and fire pit at the Lee County Wildlife Club. Wear costumes if you’d like. The cost is $10/runner.
  • No Scare Fair at the Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Dr, Sanford NC
    When: 9a-6p
    What: Children ages 2-10 can trick-or-treat along Jack O’Lantern Lane. There will be art activities, costume parade, fortune telling, performances, and candy. Sessions will be at 9a, 10:30a, 12p, 1:30p, 3p, and 4:30p. Admission is $5/person.
  • Oktoberfest at Millstone Creek Orchard, 506 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur NC
    When:

    What: Bring the family to the orchard for music, pumpkin picking, s’mores, storytime, contests, demos, hot dog roasting, apple cider drinking and more fall activities. Admission is $8 (free for kids under age 2).
  • Boo at the Aloha Zoo, 159 Mini Ln, Cameron NC

    What: The zoo will offer games and prizes. Vendors will be set up. Children are invited to wear their costumes for trick or treating. Admission is $12 and includes the safari tour. Children under age 2 are admitted free.
